Here is what I posted on the CZOT forum and wanted to share with you all!
What an event. Z Sport pulled off a doozy for sure. For those who could not make it, well one hell of a show. The day started with Mark Rolston and I loading the carbon fiber tube frame chassis Z to show at the event. We made it and as soon as we pulled in the jaws started dropping. I helped Mark unload, set up and then off to volunteer land with the auto cross. The auto cross was a blast, but my legs were jello by the end of the day since there were a ton of cone munchers at the entry gate.
It was nice to see some old faces again and our crew milling about the lot. I enjoyed hanging out with Arif on the course and seeing Miles, Luis, Mike, Mark, and of course Russ with his open face helmet looking like he was constipated while driving. Oh these are the Z Sport guy's. Also in attendance was Mad Mike Taylor with some wonderful Mr. K. signed raffle items as well. Gotta love Mike, first thing he asked me was how Debbie was doing and to tell her hi. What a class act! It has been a rough few years due to the economy and job changes, plus I have been spending most of my time modifying my Z, tracking, and working events at H2R. It was nice to go to a car show again and talk with friends I have not seen in some time. Kinda made the memory of the rough years melt away.
On to the auto cross, very well done and I have to say whoever owns the truck kuddo's. A lot of nice cars and smiling faces! Oh and Arif, we need to put our names on at least 40 of those cones!
At the end of the day there was a great range of cars taking home trophies and I would like to congratulate the following club members and Austinites who went home honored.
